Mold Remediation
Mold remediation involves identifying the moisture source, containing the area, removing contaminated materials, and cleaning with detergent or antimicrobials to prevent recurrence.
The key to mold control is moisture control. We scrub mold off hard surfaces with detergent and water, and dry it completely. Porous materials, like drywall, carpet, and ceiling tiles, often must be removed and discarded if heavily contaminated.
Painting or caulking over moldy surfaces is not a proper fix, as it will peel and the problem will persist. Avoid using bleach on porous surfaces like wood or drywall, as it only kills surface mold, not roots.
